By RS: Many people quote the famous Bible passage from Matthew 24 where Jesus says plain that no one knows the solar day or the hour that He will return except the Father:

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, just My Father only. Simply as the days of Noah were, so also volition the coming of the Son of Man be. I've quoted this many times likewise. But I think it'south interesting that Jesus compared his render to the days of Noah, considering while Noah did not know the mean solar day or the 60 minutes that God was going to alluvion the entire earth, he did know roughly when information technology was going to happen because God made information technology known that it would be in 120 years in Genesis 6:

Notice it says the 'consummation' is determined. Other translations refer to this similarly, as the 'decreed devastation' or 'decreed end'. This means that 24-hour interval on which Christ returns to terminate the Antichrist is determined or decreed, which means it is a set up day.

As well notice when the abomination of desolations (the Antichrist) comes on the scene, which Jesus also refers to in Matthew 24. He comes on the scene in the middle of that seven year covenant (in the eye of the week). This is of import.

And so we know the Antichrist'southward invasion of Jerusalem happens in the centre of the seven year covenant. So how long does it last? Daniel vii tells us:

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute the saints of the Well-nigh High,
And shall intend to change times and police.
So the saints shall be given into his mitt
For a time and times and half a time.

The saints (Christians) will be given into the Antichrist's hand for a time, times, and half a fourth dimension. Most Bibles with a footnote will tell you that means three years and a half. Basically, 'fourth dimension' is one year, 'times' is two years, and 'half a time' is half a year or six months. So that means this invasion of Jerusalem will keep for iii years and a half.

I don't know about you, only that feels similar a very long time for Jerusalem to be under the boot of the Antichrist. It's no wonder Jesus said to run like y'all've never run earlier when yous see the Antichrist standing in the temple:

"Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy identify" (whoever reads, let him sympathize), "then permit those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And permit him who is in the field not get dorsum to become his dress. Merely woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may non be in wintertime or on the Sabbath. For and so at that place will be great tribulation, such every bit has not been since the offset of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Sounds horrible. Zechariah xiv sheds a piddling light on what will be happening over those 3.5 years:

"And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, at that place shall exist i thousand two hundred and 90 days. Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

So from the time the anathema of desolations (Antichrist) is 'ready' in the temple, meaning to be bestowed or to be worshipped, and the daily sacrifice is stopped, in that location will be 1290 days. In other words, when nosotros see the Antichrist standing in the temple as Jesus warned in Matthew 24, information technology's going to be 1290 days until Christ'south return.
